Duration

The duration of an inflammation in the connective tissue depends on various factors. The cause of the inflammation plays an important role. Bacterial inflammations are usually very acute.

They occur within a few hours or days. With an adequate therapy, healing can be achieved within several days or a few weeks, depending on the inflammation. However, some connective tissue inflammations also show a chronic or chronically recurrent course.

This is especially the case with autoimmune diseases such as scleroderma or lupus erythematosus. In this case, even under therapy, years of progression are not uncommon.
