Duration of a diaper rash
Usually a diaper rash lasts only 3 to 4 days, provided the parents treat it correctly. However, if the skin inflammation is not treated adequately or not treated at all, a fungus may settle on the inflamed area and cause a fungal infection. This is in any case in need of treatment by the pediatrician, otherwise the infection can spread further.
But even with proper treatment by the parents, it is possible that the diaper dermatitis has not healed after 4 days. Also in this case you are well advised to consult your pediatrician to prevent possible fungal infections or similar.
