Duration of bleaching and bleaching result

Synonym

Teeth whitening, bleaching English: bleachingThe actual bleaching is done in one session, depending on how many teeth are to be treated. The duration for the actual bleaching procedure per tooth is about 10-15 minutes, depending on the technique. The first results are already visible after the first application.

As a rule, however, the session should be repeated for 1-2 weeks to achieve optimal and long-lasting results. If the dental examination and tooth cleaning is carried out directly before the bleaching, the treatment time is extended accordingly. In most cases, however, the dental examination and cleaning is carried out in a dental session one or two days before.

The length of time the result of a bleaching treatment lasts depends on various factors. Firstly, the chosen bleaching procedure is decisive, then the hygienic status of the teeth. If teeth are regularly cleaned with a toothbrush and toothpaste after bleaching, the result will last longer.

Consumption habits are also decisive in how long the whiteness of the whitened teeth is maintained. If the patient drinks a lot of coffee and tea, a discoloration of the teeth is to be expected earlier than if the patient limits or completely avoids the consumption of these products. It is also recommended to have a professional tooth cleaning carried out by the dentist at regular intervals, which does not insignificantly prolong the durability of the bleaching result.

In general, it can be said that on average after 1-2 years, a new bleaching has to be done, because the results are darker. However, a refresher bleaching is gentler, faster and cheaper than primary bleaching.
