Duration of numbness
How long a numbness of the head lasts and if it is not even permanent depends on its cause. In most cases, feelings of numbness of the head are only temporary and of short duration. Very often they disappear completely again, since often harmless causes are behind it. However, if a stroke is the cause, it depends on how quickly and adequately the patient is treated, whether the symptoms disappear completely or not.
Prognosis
In most cases the cause of numbness of the head is rather harmless and the prognosis is therefore very good.The unpleasant sensation often disappears without treatment. In the case of psychosomatic causes, stress reduction, relaxation techniques and psychotherapy have a positive effect on the prognosis. If there are more serious illnesses such as a stroke or an inflammation behind it, it depends on how quickly and consistently these illnesses are recognized and treated.
