Duration of the therapy
The therapy of an Achilles tendon inflammation is often lengthy. As a rule, the duration of treatment depends on how strictly affected persons adhere to an initial ban on sport and how carefully they handle the return to sport. In most cases the acute inflammatory symptoms can be relieved within a few weeks.
Afterwards, however, irritation can occur repeatedly over months during physical exertion. Some people still have to struggle with the disease after half a year to a year.
