Duration | Sebaceous gland inflammation

Duration

The duration of an inflammation of the sebaceous glands depends on the severity and type of the inflammation. Small inflammations heal on their own within a few days. More severe infections can be treated with heat or a pulling ointment.

In the case of abscesses or furuncles, treatment must be carried out by a doctor, whereby the focus of the inflammation is surgically split. After the operation it can take up to a week for the wound to heal.
