According to clinical studies and general consensus, ear candles are not suitable for removing an earwax plug.
Contraindications
Ear candles should not be used in cases of eardrum perforation or if there is a plastic appliance in the ear.
Adverse effects
Burns may occur if used improperly and wax may enter the external auditory canal.
