Effect | L- Carnitine

Effect

It can also be ingested in small amounts with food. The effect of L-carnitine is in the area of fat burning. It acts as a molecule by which the fat metabolism is stimulated.

As a “transporter” it works in the human organism and brings fatty acids from A to B. It increases the burning of fat molecules and thus helps to lose weight. Therefore it is often used in the fitness industry and branch.

In addition, it is said to support muscle building, which makes it interesting for bodybuilders and fitness athletes. Furthermore, it should positively influence the ability to concentrate and also promote regeneration after a training session. Especially the advertising industry has specialized in L-Carnitine as a miracle weapon for muscle build-up and fat burning, however, final scientific evidence is still missing. There are some studies that prove a positive effect of L-Carnitine. However, there are also studies that cannot prove the effect, and so it is still not conclusively clarified whether and to what extent supplementation with L-carnitine pays off or not.

Effect on potency

L-carnitine is said to have a positive effect on male potency in addition to the many other positive effects. This could be proven in a study from Rome. The results are promising: If the L-Carnitine was taken more often and more regularly, a constantly improving erectile function could be proven with the participating men. A daily dosage of L-carnitine of 0.2 – 1 gram can already have a positive effect on potency. Through the improvement of fat metabolism and energy balance, erectile dysfunction is gradually reduced and eliminated.

Can L-Carnitine lower cholesterol levels?

L-carnitine has other positive effects on the human body and helps, for example, to lower high cholesterol levels. A study had been able to show that the bad LDL cholesterol could be lowered after the addition of L-carnitine. The good HDL cholesterol remained constant.

Similar studies could also show that by supplementing L-Carnitine the cholesterol value was improved day by day. As one of the side effects of L-carnitine supplementation, heart palpitations can be the result. L-carnitine also has a slightly stimulating effect and can thus lead to tachycardia in the event of an overdose.

There is simply too much energy in the organism that somehow wants to be broken down. This leads to tachycardia and insomnia, as more energy has to be burned. Especially on days with little exercise, the dosage of L-carnitine should be relatively low, at one to two grams. A low dosage at the beginning of about 250 mg (for example in capsule form) is recommended. One should first slowly approach the dosage of one to two grams and wait and see how the body reacts to the amount of L-carnitine supplied.
