Embutramide is commercially available as a solution for injection as a combination preparation with the muscle relaxant mebezonium iodide and the local anesthetic tetracaine (T 61). It has been approved in many countries since 1971.

Structure and properties

Embutramide (C17H27NO3, Mr = 293.4 g/mol) is a derivative of γ-hydroxybutyric acid.

Effects

Embutramide (ATCvet QN51AX50) is narcotic.

Indications

For killing horses, cattle, pigs, dogs, cats, minks, pigeons, pet birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, and small laboratory animals.
