Epidemiology

The shoulder dislocation as such occurs quite rarely.It is assumed that 15 per 100,000 patients per year.

Perspective

An expansion or improvement of the arthroscopic techniques can be expected. Medium and long-term results of arthroscopic operations and laser techniques remain to be seen. Whether early reconstruction after initial luxation has an influence on the recurrence rate has yet to be proven by studies.
