Euceta

Euceta was commercially available as a gel and had been approved since 1947 (Euceta with Chamomile and Arnica, Novartis, formerly Wander). Distribution was discontinued in many countries in 2014 after many decades. Leucen Acetic Alumina Gel, for example, is available as an alternative.

Ingredients

1 g of the gel contains 50 mg acetic acid clay (Aluminii acetatis tartratis solutio), 10 mg chamomile extract (Matricariae extractum liquidum), 10 mg arnica tincture (Arnicae tinctura), and flavoring agents.

Effects

The gel has anti-inflammatory, cooling, anti-itching, astringent, analgesic and healing properties.

Indications for use

  • Minor blunt injuries such as bruises, contusions, sprains and strains.
  • Skin abrasions and skin irritations
  • Sunburn
  • Insect bites
  • Skin irritations, which are caused by sweating (foot burning) or soreness.

Contraindications

The gel is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity and open wounds. Full precautions can be found in the package leaflet.

Adverse effects
