As with all dietary supplements, we cannot really recommend the consumption or use of fitness bars. Generally speaking, fitness bars, if consumed in moderation, are not considered harmful. As already mentioned, fitness bars are a dietary supplement that is not a substitute for a complete, balanced diet.

Since there is a huge variety on the market in terms of price, taste and ingredients, there should be a suitable model for almost every interested person. However, if the bars are to be used to increase protein intake, protein shakes offer a cheaper alternative and even less “unnecessary” additives. However, due to their long shelf life, good transportability and the mostly high-quality carbohydrates, they are a relatively healthy alternative to the muesli bars from the supermarket.
