Exercises after a calcified shoulder operation

An operation on the shoulder should not be underestimated. For the best possible healing process, it is therefore important to keep your shoulder in motion. In a calcified shoulder operation, the calcium deposits in the shoulder are removed minimally invasively (via a small incision).

As a rule, the shoulder is first immobilized for about 3 weeks immediately after the operation. This is followed by physiotherapy with movement exercises. A good exercise here is again the swinging of the arms with a water bottle in the hand.

This also promotes the mobility of the shoulder joint after the operation. Another exercise to build up muscles is pressing the palms of the hands together. This exercise is very easy to perform.

You sit down and press your palms against each other in front of your body. The tension can be held for about 30 seconds. This exercise should be repeated 3 times in total.

There is also a simple yet effective exercise when standing, which can be performed after an operation. You stand in front of a wall and place your hands against the wall with slightly bent arms. Now you crawl the wall as far as possible with your hands up and down.

It is also possible to do this exercise from the side. Exercising to the full extent of the movement increases the flexibility and mobility of the shoulder. Another exercise to increase strength is the interlocking of the hands.

Both palms of the hands are placed in front of the body with horizontally angled arms. Now you hook your fingers so that the hands cannot be pulled apart. Then pull the arms outwards against each other so that the hooked fingers are pulled and the shoulder muscles are tensed. This tension should be held for about 30 seconds and repeated three times.
