Exercises for at home

For exercises that can be done from home, light endurance exercises and gymnastic exercises are particularly suitable. During the execution of the exercise, it is important to keep the pulse within the permitted range to avoid overexertion. 1) Running on the spot Start running slowly on the spot.

Make sure that you consciously roll your feet and increase the pace gently. 2) Rope skipping Slow and controlled rope skipping on the spot, preferably at intervals, helps to increase endurance. 3) Picking apples Sit up straight and upright.

Now stretch your arms upwards as if you were picking imaginary apples. Do the exercises with pauses for a few minutes. Exercises that are suitable for home use in case of heart muscle weakness are manifold and must always be adapted to the individual patient.

It is therefore impossible to make a general statement about which exercises are suitable for whom. This is always decided by the treating physicians and physiotherapists. You can find more exercises in the article Physiotherapy for heart muscle weakness

Exercises in the group

Group therapy is not only about improving physical resilience but also about the exchange of experiences and socialization of the patients. The exercises can vary in the group therapy. Mostly it is a combination of individual exercises and exercises with a partner or with the whole group.

An important component of group therapy is the regular control of the resting pulse between the individual exercise sections. The pace at which the exercises are performed is not regulated uniformly, but each patient can find the pace that suits him or her. Some exercises are described as examples.

1) Group exercise All participants line up in a circle. One patient starts by passing a ball around the body and then passes it on to the neighbouring patient. 2) Individual exercise Clap your arms together above your head, then lower them and raise your left leg.

Now clap your hands together under the raised leg, then change sides. 3) Partner Exercise Stand with your face together. Now put your hands together at chest height. Breathe in and raise your arms together. When breathing out lower your arms again. You can find more breathing exercises here: Exercises against pain when breathing in
