Application in homeopathy

In homeopathy, the remedy Colchicum is primarily used to treat acute inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract with diarrhea and cramps, vomiting and the associated tendency to collapse. Just the sight and smell of food makes you vomit. It is also used for gout and acute rheumatoid arthritis.

In attacks of gout, one chooses the low potencies D2 to D4. For heart complaints and gastro-intestinal diseases D4 and D6 are more appropriate. Colchicum is only available on prescription up to and including D3!

Nausea, great thirst, violent vomiting, diarrhea with cramps, considerably accelerated, flat pulse, cramps up to paralysis. In case of suspicion a doctor must be consulted immediately.
