What is therapeutic fasting?

The original purpose of therapeutic fasting is to “detoxify” and “purify” the body and serves the regeneration of body and mind, not to lose weight. Pollutants, which accumulate in the body due to unhealthy ways of life, environment and metabolism, so-called “cinders”, are to be eliminated and the body healthy and strengthened from the cure. The gentle transition to food and a normal diet should prevent stomach cramps, indisposition, circulation problems and digestive problems.

Laxatives such as Glauber’s salt or Epsom salts should no longer be taken. Normally, the intestines become active and work again through food and a sufficient amount of drinking. However, a few days may pass before digestion is running smoothly again.
