Fat: Milk and Dairy Products

Milk is not commonly considered a fattening food, as it does not contain much fat in percentage terms. However, one must remember that it is a liquid. One liter of whole milk has been drunk quickly and thus, after all, 37 grams of fat have been consumed. Skim milk or buttermilk are a good alternative. Cream is particularly popular as a flavor carrier when used for sauces. Using half cream instead of full cream hardly affects the taste. Or try replacing cream in whole or in part with cottage cheese.

Many types of cheese have a high fat content

In hardly any other food group are the discrepancies as large as in cheese. For some varieties (soft cheeses), you might still suspect a high fat content; for others (feta or mozarella), you’d be more surprised. The fact is that for many types of cheese there are hardly any possibilities to avoid. So it is also a shame to do without such delicacies. Therefore, simply reduce the portion. A reduced amount does not mean reduced enjoyment at the same time. One must enjoy only consciously!
