Felt Louse Infestation (Pediculosis Pubis): Examination

A comprehensive clinical examination is the basis for selecting further diagnostic steps:

  • General physical examination – including blood pressure, pulse, body weight, height; furthermore:
    • Inspection (viewing) of skin [due tosymptoms: bluish spots (taches bleues; maculae coeruleae) in the following regions:
      • Pubic area
      • Armpits, chest hair
      • Beard, eyebrows, eyelashes
      • Head hair (very rare)]
