Fenugreek: Dosage

Fenugreek seeds are available in the form of tea and are also included in some tea blends of the indication skin and blood purification. The tea can either be used internally or used to prepare poultices that can be applied externally for inflammation. In the field of herbal medicines, fenugreek seeds and extracts from them are offered, for example, in the form of tinctures, capsules and shampoos.

Fenugreek: how to dose?

The average daily dose, unless otherwise prescribed, is 6 g of the drug when used internally. Used externally, 50 g of the seed powder can be added to 250 ml of water to make a poultice.

Preparation of fenugreek

For internal use, about 2 g of the crushed seeds (1 teaspoon equals about 4.5 g) can be taken 3 times a day with some liquid. To stimulate appetite, it is recommended to take each time before meals. For external use in local inflammations, 50 g of the seed powder is mixed with 250 ml of water and boiled for 5 minutes.

A warm, moist poultice can then be prepared from the decoction and applied to the affected areas of the skin.

Fenugreek seeds are also included in the classic curry spice and are a popular spice in India.
