As with adults, it is to be led also with children very meaningfully a travel pharmacy and with vacation or with a Kurztripp always thereby to have. With small injuries sufficient dressing material or small plasters with funny motives are always helpful. In addition, a wound and healing ointment, such as Bepanthen®, should not be missing.

If small infections occur during a trip, it is always helpful to have fever-reducing medication with you. Here you can use paracetamol or ibuprofen in the form of juice, suppositories or even tablets. Besides the fever-lowering effect, they also have a pain-relieving effect and can also be used to treat headaches or painful injuries.

Particularly on vacation one can catch an upsetting of the stomach fast.Therefore, medicines against diarrhoea and vomiting should always be at the top of the list of travel medications. For diarrhoea, children can very well be treated with a specially prepared preparation made from glucose and minerals in the pharmacy. This ready-made mixture can be used for both severe diarrhoea and vomiting and prevents the child’s body from drying out and thus also the dangerous loss of fluids and salts.

In addition, so-called probiotics, such as lactobacilli, help to strengthen and rebuild the damaged intestinal flora. For very special cases it can also be helpful to carry some medicinal charcoal in the first-aid kit. Coal binds toxins that have been swallowed and can be used as a first measure when swallowing tablets or poisonous plants.

Especially in the cold season, a nasal spray with isotonic saline solution, which moistens the mucous membranes and leads to swelling of the nose and sinuses, should not be missing. Cough syrup or lozenges can also be very helpful for mild infections and provide rapid relief.
