Fitting the contact lenses

Synonyms in a broader sense

Adhesive lenses, adhesive shells, adhesive lenses, glasses engl. : contact lensesThe fitting of contact lenses should always be carried out by a specialist, e.g. an ophthalmologist or optician. It is not advisable to fit lenses yourself, as contact lenses of the wrong size or curvature can permanently damage the cornea.

During the fitting process, different lenses are tried out until the right one is found which is not perceived as disturbing. During the fitting process, attention is paid to the right diameter and the right curvature (BC value). With these values, the individually fitting lenses can always be re-ordered later. Contact lens wearers are strongly advised to have regular follow-up examinations in order to detect and treat a beginning infection or damage to the cornea at an early stage.
