Fly screen

The right clothing and the use of repellents provide effective protection outdoors. If, in addition, the penetration of mosquitoes into the house or bedroom is to be prevented, fly screens in windows and doors can be used effectively. There are numerous different possibilities to install fly screens in door and/or window frames. Also travel fly screens, which can be used temporarily on vacation, are available at home next to permanently installed fly screens.

Mosquito nets

In addition to placing a fly screen in window and/or door frames, a mosquito net over the bed can also be an effective way to keep mosquitoes away at night. Especially for those who do not want to use chemicals or repellents and also want to avoid killing the mosquitoes with insect killers or insecticidal mosquito plugs, mosquito nets suitable for the respective bed are suitable. In this way, even mosquitoes that have made their way through fly screens can be kept away from the body during sleep and also avoid the annoying buzzing noise at night. There are also impregnated mosquito nets available, which are particularly recommended in dangerous tropical areas (an additional repellent may even be necessary here).

Insect killer

Once the mosquitoes have gotten out of the open into closed rooms, it is usually difficult to get rid of them again. For indoor use, other methods are therefore available, including the insect killer: it attracts the mosquitoes (and other nocturnal insects) with UV light and kills them immediately with an electric shock as soon as they enter the device. Due to a protective plastic frame or a grounded metal frame, the insect killers usually do not pose any danger to humans.

In addition, these devices work completely without chemicals. Only a free power outlet is required to start the insect killer. Outside of interiors, outdoors, the insect killers may not be used, however, because this would lead to the unnecessary, unselected killing of insects.
