Foot care at home for men

Many patients prefer to do their chiropody themselves instead of going to a beautician or to the chiropodist. For men it is often still new territory to take care of their feet extensively and therefore a manual for men to do the foot care themselves is very important. First of all, the patient should be clear about what kind of foot care he or she needs for his or her feet, because it depends a lot on what kind of foot care you have in mind.

If the man wants to do a pedicure himself, which only serves the pampering of the feet, foot baths are a good example. Here you can fill a small tub with warm water and fill it with essential oils. Rosemary or mint oils are particularly suitable here, as they have an additional caring effect.

It is important here to leave the feet in the water for a maximum of 5 minutes, otherwise they lose moisture and it becomes difficult to treat them further. If a man wants to do his own foot care, he can also treat his feet with a corneal rasp or a special corneal foam sponge after the relaxed foot bath. Since the toenails have become well soft due to the warm bath, it is also advisable to cut them after the foot bath, whereby care should be taken to ensure that the toenails are cut as straight as possible.

After the toenails have been cut and the calluses have been removed, the man can now additionally apply a foot foam to the heels and massage the entire foot with it from there. For this purpose, there is extra foot foam, which ensures that the feet store moisture for as long as possible and that the calluses do not replicate as quickly. However, it is important to note that in principle every man can do his own foot care and take it into his own hands. He should, however, bear in mind that as soon as medical problems occur, such as ingrown toenails or a diabetic foot, a specialist, a so-called podiatrist, should definitely be chosen.
