It is usually very difficult to make an exact forecast. However, what can usually already be said is whether the tumour can be cured by the treatment options. There are special types of tumours such as ovarian cancer or tumours of the small intestine which can be cured in some cases.
What one must not lose sight of, however, is that peritoneal tumours as tumour colonisations are a sign that the original tumour is already very advanced, which often makes a cure impossible. Nevertheless, chemotherapy and radiotherapy should still be considered for such patients, because even if the patient cannot be cured, the various forms of therapy and their possible combinations can still give them valuable and liveable time.
