Anamnesis (medical history) represents an important component in the diagnosis of foreskin hypertrophy, phimosis, paraphimosis.

  • Do you have any pain? If yes, when does the pain occur?
  • Where is the pain localized?
  • Is there pain during urination?
  • Do you notice ballooning (the foreskin may stretch and “balloon” in the process; there may be dribbling of urine) during urination?
  • Could the foreskin ever be retracted without problems? If no, since when does this symptomatology exist?*
  • Do you have any other symptoms such as a swollen limb* , bluish discoloration of the limb* ?
