In the hCG diet, various products are offered to support the diet and reduce side effects. Homeopathic medicines make up a large part of the products. These include globules, among others.

These globules consist of sucrose, i.e. sugar, and form the carrier substance for the supposed active ingredients. They are applied in extremely diluted concentrations and in some cases are not even detectable. Moreover, their effectiveness has not yet been proven in any scientific study. Representatives of homeopathy defend the preparations and postulate that the effect goes beyond the undeniable placebo effect. Statistical significance is not given, however.

What are the costs of an HCG diet?

According to Anne Hild, it is possible to lose a lot of weight in a three-week period with an extremely calorie-reduced diet, but without the drops one would not be able to keep it up. Losing weight would then cause constant hunger and tiredness and would put you in a bad mood. The allegedly effective slimming helpers cost however also their price: For the complete set for the three-week diet nearly 120€ become due.

Who wants to accomplish still further weeks of the Di?t, additional expenditures must plan. Costs for cookbooks or guidebooks are not yet included. The food costs are not much higher, since many processed products, alcohol and restaurant visits are avoided. However, lovers of regional, seasonal or organic products must expect additional expenses due to the high content of meat and vegetables.

How much can I lose weight with the diet?

Especially after the carbohydrate-rich loading days, the participant will notice an increase in weight, which is mainly due to the storage of water. When the glycogen stores are emptied during the first days of the diet, this water is very quickly washed out of the body and can cause a severe weight loss of two or more kilos. How much is possible in the following depends, among other things, on the starting weight and the personal exercise profile. Since the calorie deficit is set very high, the person willing to lose weight can enjoy consistently good results of one kilo or more per week. However, this corresponds to a large extent to the loss of water and muscle mass.
