Hair loss at the back of the head in women

Women rarely suffer from hair loss at the back of the head. The type of hair loss that occurs in 95% of cases, namely androgenetic hair loss, only affects the forehead, parietal and temporal areas. However, the back of the head is not affected.

However, hair loss at the back of the head can have other causes. These include skin diseases such as virus or fungal infections, autoimmune processes and inflammatory processes or allergic reactions. Since many women bleach or dye their hair, reactions to chemical dyes and lightening oxidants should not be underestimated. They can lead to hair loss if they are not used properly or simply not tolerated.
