- Encephalogram (EEG; recording of the electrical activity of the brain) – for suspected epilepsy, narcolepsy (compulsive sleep seizures during the day).
- Computed tomography of the skull (cranial CT, cranial CT or cCT) – for further diagnosis.
- X-ray of the thorax (X-ray thorax / chest), in two planes.
