Heberden’s Arthrosis: Causes

Pathogenesis (disease development)

Heberden’s arthrosis results in the formation of prallelastic nodules, called mucoid cysts (vesicle-like protrusions), on the extensor side of the finger end joints. As it progresses, there is formation of nodular cysts, and later deformity, malalignment (deviation to the thumb side), loss of strength, and limitation of motion.

Etiology (causes)
