Heel spur | Foot pain

Heel spur

The lower calcaneal spur (common) is a painful bony extension of the inner heel bone under the heel. The upper or dorsal heel spur (rare) is a painful bony extension at the heel bone base of the Achilles tendon.

Ankle joint

The upper ankle joint (OSG) is formed by three bones. The outer ankle (fibula) forms the outer ankle fork; the shin bone (tibia) forms the inner ankle fork. The talus is the transmission of force to the foot and forms the joint opponent.

The ankle fork (malleolus fork) consisting of the tibia and fibula surrounds the ankle bone in a U-shape. The calf and tibia are connected by a very strong ligament connection (syndesmosis). The stinky foot (pes olens) is a widespread problem in orthopedic surgery. The symptoms of the stinky foot often affect the examiner more than the person affected.

Stenchy feet occur in all age groups. Besides the odour nuisance for the environment, it creates ideal conditions for fellow inhabitants of the foot, such as athlete’s foot, nail fungus and eczema.
