Help with therapy failure

If neither cause has been found nor medical therapy has helped. In many cases, no clear causes of dizziness can be found. Many vertigo diseases are the result of mental overload, emotional stress and mental conflicts. Untreated dizziness leads to a loss of zest for life, withdrawal from work and private life up to suicide (suicide).

In such cases psychosomatic forms of therapy should be considered. Psychotherapy is based either on a change in the patient’s behavior in order to be able to deal better with psychologically stressful situations in the future or on analytical methods that make the patient aware of conflicts that cause illness. Pharmaceuticals can also help in special cases of psychosomatically induced dizziness.

Drugs for depression with simultaneous dizziness (antidepressants) are able to relieve the dizziness symptoms. Great fear of falls and their consequences of injury can alone trigger dizziness, especially in older people (phobic dizziness). If the fear is too much of a burden, anxiolytic drugs are indicated.
