Eczema of the foot can be very distressing for those affected. Since the feet and especially the soles of the feet are constantly stressed in everyday life, it is often very difficult to achieve healing of the eczema. Careful care and some home remedies can help to treat eczema on the feet and improve their condition.

A good way to treat eczema on the feet in a natural way is to use soothing and calming foot baths. However, one should pay attention to the ingredients of the footbath. Soothing additives such as chamomile, aloe vera or ginger have an anti-inflammatory effect, but should be used with caution.

Depending on the type of eczema, they can also cause irritation or worsen the condition of the skin. This is particularly the case if the person affected suffers from so-called dishydrotic eczema, which usually also has a certain predisposition to allergies and intolerances. In this case one should be very careful with herbs, essential oils and other ingredients and consult a specialized dermatologist for treatment.

Another way to treat eczema of the feet with a simple household remedy is to use soothing packs of healing earth or cooling curd cheese. Here too, however, the following rule applies: every eczema reacts differently to external influences. If a household remedy is irritating, the treatment should be discontinued.

Yoghurt packs can help to relieve itching, especially in itchy eczema. To prevent scratching of the affected areas, it is still recommended to wear special cotton socks. Materials such as animal wool or polyester should be avoided as they promote itching.

In the case of very dry eczema, as is typical for neurodermatitis, for example, it is recommended to take sea salt baths. They help to gently remove dead skin cells and to renew the skin. A simple additional household remedy for eczema in the foot area is sufficient oiling of the skin and careful skin protection. It is especially important to avoid all those things that additionally dry out the skin. Strongly alkaline soaps are to be mentioned here just like sunbaths and also foam baths as well as water with a temperature of over 35 degrees Celsius.
