Cold baths, steam baths or a simple nasal spray are particularly suitable for this purpose. Furthermore, alcohol consumption shortly before going to bed can also lead to snoring. Smokers are also very often affected. Therefore, one should refrain from drinking alcoholic beverages a few hours before going to bed and, if necessary, limit smoking. For most people, going to bed at a regular time also helps to counteract snoring. A particularly popular home remedy is the tip to always fall asleep in the side position. This is because most affected people only snore in the supine position. However, since one can hardly influence one’s posture during sleep, it is advisable to attach a tennis ball to one’s back. This ensures that sleeping in the supine position does not occur. Some affected persons also report great success with so-called snoring patches. This is possible, for example, with a tea made from arnica leaves, lime blossoms or sage. This should be drunk approximately one hour before going to bed, so that the tea can develop its effect.

Basically, the old-known home remedies can only alleviate snoring and thus only contain it. Only if the snoring is based on a cold, nicotine consumption or obesity, a permanent cure can take place. Provided that one would like to do without operative measures, home remedies can make a life with snoring more pleasant by a regular application of certain behaviors and unfold all a fast improvement, provided that the correct home remedy was found.
