Home remedy for the treatment of coccyx pain

First and foremost, the best home remedy for chronic coccygeal pain is still exercise, as lack of exercise is the most common cause of chronic back pain, regardless of location. With acute coccyx pains, for example after a fall, painkillers on vegetable basis can help. These include arnica ointment, camphor, peppermint or pine needle oil and chili, which are applied externally by applying them to the appropriate area.

Camphor, peppermint and pine needle oil have a cooling and blood circulation-enhancing effect and thus relieve pain. In contrast, chili contains the “pungent” substance capsaicin, which is also contained in some ointments. Capsaicin has a pain-relieving effect by permanently activating the pain receptors, which, however, quickly become tired and then no longer pass on pain stimuli. This is why a short-term burning sensation occurs on the skin during application, which should, however, immediately afterwards lead to a painless to pain-free phase.
