Homeopathy before operations

Introduction

Before, during and after operations, homeopathic concomitant therapy can be beneficial for the patient. For example, arnica and yellow phosphorus can help to protect against secondary bleeding; lachesis, horse chestnut and witch hazel reduce the risk of thrombosis, and if anxious before the operation, various herbal remedies can reduce anxiety.

Homeopathics for increased bleeding propensity

The following homeopathics can help patients who show an increased willingness to bleed. To reduce the bleeding propensity, Arnica is given a few days before surgery and dental procedures. The dosage is about 4 days before the surgery.

Let 1 tablet or 10 globules of Arnica D 12 dissolve under the tongue twice a day.

  • Arnica prevents infections
  • Alleviates the pain of the wound
  • The risk of secondary bleeding is reduced
  • Also recommended before dental surgery

Yellow phosphorus is indicated when a general bleeding tendency is known. In patients who have frequent nosebleeds, bruises from minor bumps, or who have had post-operative bleeding or heavy bleeding during previous operations.

However, it can also be taken in case of light bleeding of the gums. The typical dosage of Phosphorus (Yellow Phosphorus), which can be used before surgery, is: 2 days before the surgery 1 x 5 globules of C30 or two days before the surgery 1 tablet of D30 under the tongue. Yellow phosphorus is only available on prescription up to and including D3!

Homeopathic drugs for increased risk of thrombosis or embolism

Information on the risk factors of thrombosis can be found here: ThrombosisLachesis is a very broadly acting agent. It is particularly suitable for patients with a general tendency to thrombosis and embolism (risk factors include varicose veins, overweight, menopause). This tendency is usually caused by capillary damage in the context of a serious pre-existing condition, whereby the patients are usually lean, exhausted or depressive.

The extreme sensitivity to touch is particularly characteristic of the patients. The very broad-acting remedy is particularly suitable for very excited patients who talk a lot and cannot tolerate the pressure of clothing on the neck and in the belt region. Very often the complaints are concentrated on the left side of the body, the patients are excited and talkative.

The complaints get worse in humid weather and at rest, especially bad are complaints in the morning. Improvement usually occurs through exercise. To prevent and avoid thrombosis, 5 drops of Lachesis D 12 or one tablet each in the evening are given 2 days before and 10 days after the operation.

Prescription only up to and including D3! You can read more information on this topic here: LachesisIf there is a tendency to thrombosis in existing varicose veins, it is recommended to treat them preventively with Aesculus for a long time before the operation. Often the patient complains of congested and bleeding hemorrhoids with burning pain, in addition often persistent blockages with a plug feeling in the anus.

In general, all mucous membranes are dry. Typical symptoms in patients are congested veins in the legs and the feeling of “heavy legs” caused by the congestion pressure in venous insufficiency.

Hemorrhoids, which are very itchy and burning, are also common. Directions for use: Hamamelis ointment for external use. You can read more information on this topic here: Hamamelis
