Homeopathy | Eczema on the foot

Homeopathy

Since the cause of eczema is usually poorly or not curable at all, patients remain exposed to the risk of renewed eczema throughout their lives. With appropriate care and therapy, however, this risk can be easily contained. Unfortunately, chronic courses are usually difficult to assess.

Spontaneous “healings” can follow a strong outbreak. Eczema may not appear at all for years and then suddenly reappear in a severe form. The intermittent course of the disease is then of course also psychologically stressful for those affected.

Eczema is not infectious and is not transmissible. Nevertheless, they are often accompanied by severe social impairment because affected patients feel ashamed and their environment feels repelled due to ignorance. The most serious purely medical complication in relation to eczema of the foot is a subsequent superinfection of the burst blisters with viruses and/or bacteria, which then requires particularly careful treatment. With adequate antibiotic therapy, however, even this heals without consequences.

How can eczema be prevented?

Especially people who frequently irritate the skin in exposed areas due to their work (e.g. through frequent washing, disinfecting, contact with strong detergents or other chemicals) should ensure good skin protection and special work gloves. Regular creaming and oiling of the skin is recommended. In addition, contact with water by sensitive skin should be kept to a minimum.

In case of an allergic cause of a known eczema, the most effective prophylaxis remains the consistent lifelong avoidance of the trigger. Care should also be taken with substances that have not yet triggered an allergic reaction in the person affected, but which do so frequently. Affected persons should pay attention to the use of high-quality cosmetics and care products that contain as few additives and preservatives as possible. Once you have found products that are good for your skin, it is advisable to stick to them if possible.
