Homeopathy for dizziness

Introduction

Dizziness is a rather unspecific symptom, which means it can have many different causes. Therefore, when administering drugs to treat dizziness, the cause of the symptoms and the field of treatment of the respective drug should always be checked for consistency. This also applies to homeopathy and corresponding remedies.

How the dizziness feels and whether it is rotary vertigo (sensation that the surroundings are spinning) or positional vertigo (rotary vertigo that occurs exclusively when there is a change in posture) is of secondary importance. The choice of homeopathic remedy is primarily based on the context in which the vertigo occurs. The situations in which the dizziness and the accompanying symptoms improve or worsen are also usually of importance.

Appropriations to be used

If the dizziness is caused by overheating of the body, for example by sunstroke or heatstroke, Belladonna and Bryonia alba can help to support the other therapy. Belladonna can also be used in case of fever and should be chosen especially if the dizziness is improved by getting up and moving, but worsened by lying still. Bryonia alba, on the other hand, is used for dizziness that improves when lying down and worsens when standing. Aconitum napellus can also support recovery from heat stroke. This remedy is also used for dizziness of psychological origin.

Complex agent

Complex agents are combination preparations that are designed for the treatment of a specific disease or complaint. Such preparations are available in various compositions and usually contain several of the individual substances described above. Well-known complex remedies are, for example, Glonoinum Pentarkan (contains, among other things, Glonoinum, Nux vomica and Cocculus) from the German Homeopathy Union (DHU) and Vertigoheel (contains, among other things, Ambra grisea, Cocculus and Conium maculatum) from the Heel company, both of which are produced primarily for the treatment of vertigo attacks in old age and their accompanying symptoms. However, these substances and complex remedies in general can be used for vertigo attacks of any kind and can therefore be a practical companion when travelling.
