Homeopathic medicines
As homeopathic medicines for a neurodermatitis with predominantly dry skin the following are possible:
- Arsenicum album
- Calcium carbonicum
- Phosphorus
- Sepia
- Silicea
- Sulphur
Alumina
Typical dosage of alumina for neurodermatitis: Tablets D12
- Mostly lean people with noticeably dry skin and mucous membranes
- Skin condition worsens in the cold of winter
- Skin itches when it is warm and in the warmth of the bed
- Patients scratch and the skin bleeds, hurts and becomes barking
Arsenicum album
Prescription only up to and including D3! Typical dosage of Arsenicum album for neurodermatitis: Tablets D6
- Rough, dry, sometimes parchment-like skin with small scales
- Burning and itching get worse at night
- Nervous restlessness
- Scratching causes bleeding of the skin, weeping skin
- Improve local, hot applications
- Aggravation of all symptoms at night and at rest
- Restlessness, fear
Calcium carbonicum
Typical dosage of Calcium carbonicum for neurodermatitis: Tablets D12
- Inflammation of the skin in children
- Skin is flabby and cold, the rash is dry
- Itching and burning
- Milk crust
- Poor healing skin with danger of pus formation
- Patients are often lazy and cannot tolerate milk (e.g. lactose intolerance)
- Desire for eggs
- Complaints improve in cold air and get worse in humid weather
Phosphorus
Prescription only up to and including D3! Typical dosage of phosphorus for neurodermatitis: drops of D6
- Dry, scaly skin rashes that burn and itch
- The skin bleeds very easily from scratching
- Even the slightest impact causes bruises
- Patients are overexcited, jumpy, depressed, cannot be alone
- Swindle
- All complaints worsen in the evening and at night
- Cold is not tolerated
- Improvement through warmth and rest
