Homeopathy | Stomach ache after eating – what to do?

Homeopathy

In addition to orthodox medicine, homeopathy can also be used for stomach aches after meals. Homeopathic remedies can be given as support to alleviate the symptoms. Examples of homeopathic remedies for stomach pain after eating are Sepia officinalis or Nux vomica.

They help against stomach pain and cramps. However, the scientific proof of the effectiveness of homeopathy has not yet been established. It is therefore recommended to use homeopathy for mild symptoms and to consult a doctor for severe symptoms.

Prophylaxis

There is no direct prophylaxis to avoid stomach pain after eating. However, a healthy and balanced diet can contribute to a regular digestion. Very fatty or sugary foods can cause stomach pain in some people. To avoid the development of stomach ulcers, alcohol and nicotine should be avoided if possible. If you are taking medication on a long-term basis, it is essential to clarify whether this requires additional intake of stomach protection products.Otherwise, it is essential that longer-lasting and recurring stomach pain be clarified by a doctor to rule out more serious causes for the complaints.

Stomach pain after eating during pregnancy

Stomach pains after eating do not have a direct link to pregnancy. In the case of a previously unknown pregnancy, this is more likely to be expressed by pulling in the lower abdomen and less by pain in the upper abdomen associated with food intake. In a more advanced pregnancy, however, upper abdominal pain can occur, since the growing child takes up more and more space in the mother’s womb over time.

This puts pressure on the surrounding organs. If the child lies in an unfavorable position, it can also cause stomach pain. Especially if the child starts to kick in the mother’s stomach immediately after a meal, this can lead to nausea and stomach pain.

However, this is usually harmless. If stomach pain occurs every time after a meal, another cause for the discomfort must be considered. A medical clarification is recommended in any case.
