Honey against dry lips

A great many people suffer from dry lips, which not only do not look beautiful, but some of them can be really painful. In order to counteract the dehydration, many people fall back on the promising lip care sticks, which are now available almost everywhere in a wide variety of designs. Often, however, those affected have to realize that although there is a short-term improvement at first, the lips dry out again shortly afterwards and even faster than before, and that the care product has to be used more and more often to achieve success.

A good alternative is a very simple, but old proven household remedy against dry lips, namely honey. One can use in principle each completely normal honey, which one can buy in the supermarket as food, particularly effectively are however viscous variants as for example rape honey. Honey contains a large number of ingredients that help to care for the lips.

Honey also accelerates the healing of the small cracks that almost always occur in connection with dry lips. For an optimal effect, honey (quietly relatively thick) is applied to the lips once or twice a day. It is important not to lick the honey, as this moisturizing of the lips would promote dehydration again.

Instead, it is best to wipe the honey off again with a cloth after about 3 minutes. If you want to intensify the effect, you can apply the honey before going to bed and leave it on your lips overnight or use it after showering or bathing, as the pores of the skin are then dilated and can absorb the substances better. If you wish, you can also mix the honey with curd cheese to make an even tougher paste.

This should be left on the lips a little longer (up to a quarter of an hour) before washing it off again. After removing the honey, the lips will be soft and smooth again for quite a long time. The more regularly you “treat” your lips with honey, the more durable the result will be. Other topics that might interest you:
