Household remedies especially for the eyelids

There are no home remedies for neurodermatitis that are specifically designed for the eyelids. However, many of the household remedies already mentioned can also have an effect on the eyelids. With acute, weeping eczema herds, black tea compresses can also have a calming effect in the area of the eyelids and can reduce itching. Due to the salt content, table salt compresses should not be used, as this can cause an unpleasant burning sensation in the eyes if some of the solution gets into the eye. In addition, in the case of neurodermatitis on the eyelids, a daily basic care with an appropriate cream should be observed.

Household remedies especially for the scalp

Neurodermatitis is especially difficult to treat in the scalp area, as the hair makes it difficult to apply care products or household remedies. In addition, the application of greasy products, which are often used for neurodermatitis, quickly leads to greasy hair and thus becomes an aesthetic problem. Hair shampoos that contain moisturizing substances such as urea are especially recommended as they stabilize the skin barrier and thus ensure an increased moisture content of the skin.

In addition, shampoos containing silicones and fragrances or preservatives should be avoided. After washing the hair, it should not be rubbed off. Air drying is preferable to blow drying. Dyeing or tinting the hair should be avoided.

Household remedies especially for the hands

Also in the area of the hands almost all of the mentioned household remedies can be used. Black tea compresses are particularly suitable for acute, weeping eczema areas. If the neurodermatitis is mainly located in the area of the hands, the recommended full baths can also be used as hand baths.

For example, the sea salt bath or the Cleopatra bath. It is important that after each contact with water, adequate care of the skin with appropriate creams is ensured. Care products containing urea or evening primrose oil are particularly suitable for this purpose. Which products are to be recommended, however, also depends on whether it is an acute attack of neurodermatitis or the chronic form of the disease. In the area of weeping foci, moisturizing creams are recommended, while moisturizing substances such as coconut oil are more appropriate for dry skin.
