How long do tinted eyebrows last?

How long the tinted eyebrows last depends on the shade of color used and how quickly your eyebrows grow back. As a rule, tinted eyebrows should last for 4 weeks.

Can hair dyes also be used?

You should never use normal hair color for eyebrow tinting. Hair dyes contain a much higher proportion of hydrogen peroxide than special eyebrow dyes. These are much too aggressive and can cause skin irritation around the eyebrows.

Sets for tinting eyebrows yourself are available in drugstores. They cost between 4 and 10 euros. If you have your eyebrows professionally tinted by a hairdresser or beautician, the cost is between 5 and 20 euros. However, this can vary from salon to salon and also depends on whether the eyebrows are still plucked.

Henna is a plant from the Middle East. There it has been used since ancient times to colour skin and hair. Artificial hair dyes attack the hair roots and the hair shaft in order to penetrate them.

In contrast, henna naturally covers the hair as a layer and works without chemical additives. Henna is available especially for eyebrow dyeing. The costs are between 3-10 Euro per application. The colour powder henna is mixed with water and forms a bond with skin and hair.

Which household remedies can be used to colour the eyes?

Eyebrows can be easily tinted at home with home remedies. This has the advantage that you don’t have to use chemical dyes that unnecessarily strain your eyebrows. For the Selfmade Paste you will need a full set of household remedies: 2 tablespoons of coffee powder, 2 teaspoons of coconut oil, 1 teaspoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder. Mix the ingredients together well and apply to the eyebrows with a cotton swab.

How long is the exposure time?

Let the paste work for about 20 minutes and then cleanse your eyebrows with a damp cotton pad. The longer the paste is applied, the darker the result will be.

Is it allowed to tint eyebrows even during pregnancy?

Basically you do not have to give up tinting your eyebrows during pregnancy. You should make sure to use natural products and read the additives carefully. In addition, you should reduce skin contact with the tint to a minimum and rinse the tint thoroughly. If you have any concerns, consult your gynaecologist before using the dye.
