Family history (medical history) is an important component in the diagnosis of human papillomavirus (HPV) infections.

  • In what places have you noticed changes? What do these changes look like?
  • Do you have itching, burning or discharge?
  • Do you have any bleeding?

Vegetative history including nutritional history.

  • How old were you when you first had sexual intercourse?
  • Do you have frequently changing sexual partners?
  • Do you have unprotected sexual intercourse?
  • What sexual practices do you engage in?
  • Do you attach much importance to your and your partner’s genital hygiene?
  • Do you go regularly to cancer screening?
  • Do you frequently spend time in swimming pools or saunas?
  • Do you drink alcohol? If so, what drink(s) and how many glasses per day?
  • Do you use drugs? If yes, what drugs and how often per day or per week?
