Ifosfamide

Ifosfamide is commercially available as a dry substance for intravenous infusion (Holoxan). It has been approved in many countries since 1979.

Structure and properties

Ifosfamide (C₇H₁₅Cl₂N₂O₂P, M_r = 261.1 g/mol) is an oxazaphosphorine and nitrogen-lost derivative, and an analog of cyclophosphamide. Ifosfamide is a racemate and exists as a white, crystalline, hygroscopic powder that is soluble in water.

Effects

Ifosfamide (ATC L01AA06) has cytotoxic properties.

Indications

Unresectable malignant ifosfamide-sensitive tumors.
