Important instructions for use

If the complaints do not improve with the application of Iberogast® and there is no relief of the symptoms even after one week, a doctor must be consulted urgently to exclude organic causes for the complaints. In principle, children under the age of 6 years should not be treated for abdominal pain on their own authority, but should always consult a doctor so that no serious causes are overlooked.

Iberogast during pregnancy

Since Iberogast® contains alcohol, it should only be taken under reserve during pregnancy. Prior consultation with the doctor is recommended. Bayer® has made a restriction in the package insert on 12. 09. 2018 and advises against taking Iberogast® for pregnant and nursing women.

What are the side effects of the pill?

Normally there is no correlation between Iberogast® and reduced contraceptive protection provided by the contraceptive pill. The situation is different if the effective combination is not tolerated by Iberogast®. If this leads to diarrhea and/or vomiting, the contraceptive protection of the contraceptive pill is no longer effective.

Iberogast for heartburn

In most cases heartburn is harmless. However, it is not always possible to avoid the triggers for the so-called heartburn. There are various drugs that bind the stomach acid but do not tackle the cause.

The mechanism of Iberogast® is different. Iberogast® influences several factors with its herbal active substance combination. In the end, these do not only lead to an alleviation of the complaints in the gastrointestinal tract.

Within certain limits, it can also combat possible causes. If heartburn persists regularly or over a longer period of time, it is advisable to consult a doctor.
