Medical history (history of the patient) represents an important component in the diagnosis of incisional hernia (incisional hernia).

  • What is your occupation? Do you work physically hard?

Current medical history/systemic history (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • Do you have frequent pain in the area of the surgical scar?
  • Have you noticed any visible swelling, protrusion, or lumps in the area of the surgical scar? If so. When?
  • Have you noticed an increase in discomfort when the abdomen is strained (coughing, defecation, after physical work, lifting heavy loads, sports)?
  • Does the swelling disappear on its own at rest?
  • Have you noticed any limitation in the functioning of the abdominal muscles?
  • What is the pain like? Pulling?
  • Do you currently have severe, persistent, or colicky pain in the area of the surgical scar?
  • Are you experiencing any other discomfort?

Vegetative anamnesis including nutritional anamnesis.

  • Are you overweight? Please tell us your body weight (in kg) and height (in cm).
  • Has your digestion changed? Do you have frequent diarrhea or constipation?

Self history including medication history.
