Medical history (history of illness) represents an important component in the diagnosis of inguinal hernia (inguinal hernia).

  • What is your occupation? Do you work physically hard?

Current medical history/systemic history (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • Have you noticed any changes in the groin region such as swelling/protrusion/feeling of foreign bodies?
  • If so, is this protrusion (“bump”) always there? Or does it only occur when coughing, for example?
  • In addition, have you noticed any swelling on the scrotum?
  • Do you have frequent pain in the groin area?
    • What is the nature of the pain? Pulling? Very painful* ?
    • In what situations does this pain occur?
    • Does the discomfort subside when you lie down or rest?
  • Do you feel increased bowel movement?
  • Do you have nausea, vomiting and fever* ?

Vegetative anamnesis including nutritional anamnesis.

  • Are you overweight? Please tell us your body weight (in kg) and height (in cm).
  • Has your digestion changed? Do you have frequent diarrhea or constipation?

Self history including medication history.
