Interactions

Durogesic® sometimes interacts with some medications in a very dangerous way, which should be strictly observed during use:

  • Other opioids with a weaker effect, may weaken the effect of fentanyl
  • MAO-inhibitors, when combined, can increase the circulatory depression of the fentanyl and cause severe CNS side effects
  • Other drugs: preparations which reduce the rate of fentanyl degradation by inhibiting the cytochrome P-450 of the liver (e.g. azoles) -> longer duration of action of fentanyl.

  • Diseases of the lung
  • Diseases of the intestine
