Interactions with other drugs

If any of the following drugs are taken, the use of Jurnista® should be avoided, as the drugs may influence each other in their effects or increase the risk of side effects occurring

  • MAO inhibitors against depression
  • Morphine-like analgesics (buprenorphine, nalbuphine, pentazocine)
  • Medication for muscle relaxation (e.g. for back pain)
  • Drugs that cause tiredness/drowsiness (e.g. sleeping pills, tranquilizers)

Interactions with alcohol

Alcohol consumption during treatment with Jurnista® leads to increased drowsiness and may increase the risk of serious side effects. For example, the risk of respiratory arrest or loss of consciousness may be increased if the body is supplied with both alcohol and Jurnista®. For this reason, it is advisable to refrain from alcohol during therapy with Jurnista®.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Jurnista® must not be taken during the breastfeeding period, as the active ingredient acts on the child via the breast milk. If the child is pregnant, the doctor should be informed if therapy with Jurnista® is being considered.

Roadworthiness

Jurnista® is taken at the same time every day with a glass of water and must not be chewed or sucked. The exact dosage is determined by the treating physician. If the tablet is injected, this can lead to death due to ingredients not intended for this purpose, so such abuse must not be carried out!

Overdose

If a higher dose of Jurnista® than prescribed is inadvertently taken, a hospital must be visited immediately or an (emergency) doctor must be informed, as serious side effects such as respiratory arrest and loss of consciousness with subsequent death may occur!

Weaning Jurnista®

The dosage of Jurnista® is slowly phased out at the end of the therapy, i.e. gradually reduced, in order to minimize possible withdrawal symptoms. Withdrawal symptoms may nevertheless occur:

  • Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea
  • Joint Pain
