Iridocyclitis: Complications

The following are the most important diseases or complications that may be contributed to by iridocyclitis:

Eyes and ocular appendages (H00-H59).

  • Cataracta complicata – form of cataract.
  • Corneal band degeneration
  • Macular edema – accumulation of water in the area of the center of the retina.
  • Phthisis bulbi – shrinkage of the eyeball; leads to blindness.
  • Secondary open-angle glaucoma
  • Synechiae (adhesions) between the iris (iris) and the posterior surface of the cornea.
  • Synechiae (adhesions) between the iris and lens.
